Welcome to Muslim Civic Education Trust

The Muslim Civic Education Trust (M-CET) was born on June 29, 1999 in the politically cramp conditions of the day to tackle two fundamental problems:

The first and perhaps the most difficult was to persuade Kenya Muslims that to build a new Kenya, they have to participate vigorously in the creation of a new Constitution which meant a new Republic which was fundamentally just to every member of the Kenyan Society so created.

The second and equally difficult job of M-CET was to educate the Kenya Government of the day that a new Constitution must conform to the principles of a just society for all its citizens. The acceptance by the non-Muslim Kenya Government that Kenya Muslims were a people of Kenya and not a non-people of Kenya was M-CET’s major accomplishment.
